Objective
The objective of this project is to optimize the CRAH based cooling system of the
data center. The data center has cold aisle containment & free return air. CFD simulation was used to
identify stagnation and hot pocket regions inside the data center. The supply air location, flow rate
& temperature were optimized to achieve effective cooling even under worst case scenario. The
simulation considers flow inside the server racks to accurately model the data center flow profile.
Multiple CFD Smoke simulations were carried out on all the zones of the atrium with different fire locations.
Conclusion
The cooling system was optimized to achieve uniform flow distribution and low temperature gradients inside the data center.
